About Us

Ghanshyam Nursery School is situated in the heart of Kenton and was established in 2001, following the purchase of the Education Building by the Temple with the aim of providing facilities that support the local community, including educational development. For over 20 years, the nursery has provided high-quality childcare in a warm and stimulating environment, ensuring that strong foundations are laid before children continue their learning journey through school.
We provide care and education for children aged 12 months to 5 years, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. We believe that play is central to learning, and through a thoughtful balance of structured activities and free play, ensure children are supported to become curious, independent and confident learners. Our experienced and caring staff are committed to nurturing each child’s individual needs, helping them feel safe, valued and ready to thrive.

A wide range of learning areas

Nurturing confidence, curiosity and kindness through play and care

Exploration & Discovery

Children learn best by doing. Through hands-on experiences, curiosity, and plenty of “why?” moments, we encourage children to explore the world around them.

Child-Led, Adult-Guided Learning

We follow children’s interests while skilled adults gently guide, support, and extend their learning at just the right moments.

Observation & Assessment

Our practitioners carefully observe each child’s development, celebrating progress and planning meaningful next steps tailored to every individual.

Independence & Confidence

We encourage children to try new things, make choices, and develop important self-help skills, building confidence and independence every day.

Learning Together

Through play and shared experiences, children learn to work together, share ideas, and build strong social skills in a supportive environment.

Our Timings And Facilities

We are Ofsted Registered (Number EY408297) and accept children from 12 months – 5 years. Our hours of opening are 8:00am to 5:00pm and we provide a variety of warm vegetarian meals cooked on the premises.
The nursery is open for approximately 51 weeks of the year. We close for the Hindu New Year (Ankoot) for one day (If it falls over the weekdays) and for the period between Christmas and New Year.
The fees are invoiced on a termly basis and apply even when children are sick, absent or on holidays. Parents can opt to spread the termly cost by paying at the beginning of each month.

Fees & Funding

Affording childcare can be difficult, so we are pleased to be able to provide up to 30 hours of government-funded childcare.
During your visit to our nursery, our dedicated team will be delighted to explain the options available to you, or you can read more about the funding options available by clicking the button below.
